When trying to give an exemption to a student who already has that exemption a blank error message is presented.

It needs to either be correctly displayed or, if possible, "merge" the two exemptions. E.g. if trying to give a student an extension to submit an idea to some date but they already have an exemption to an earlier date, overwrite with the latter date.
